Naya Chorale is a new group of 50 singers created to perform high quality, hot, A Cappella repertoire that uplifts singers and audiences alike. Performing a powerful mix of traditional, contemporary, and home grown repertoire, Naya and its conductor Adam Brockway bring energy, passion and attitude to their music.
Naya formed at the beginning of 2012 but have already earned their place as the choir whose concerts are not to be missed.
"Absolutely inspirational", "utterly thrilling" and "you've redefined choral music" are just some of the testimonials that Naya has received from its audience. The West Australian had the following to say about Naya Chorale's debut concert: "If you combined cathedral crispness with barbershop blending and gospel dynamism, then you would come near to what this group is about." Their quality of singing and dramatic performances have led to them being invited to headline at the Denmark Festival of Voice in June, and to sing as part of a mass choir in Carnegie Hall, New York City in March earlier this year.
A full list of performances can be found on the Concerts page.
Naya is proud to welcome Celia Christmass to the team as the conductor of the soprano/alto repertoire.
Naya is a joint project between conductor Adam Brockway, and business manager Jeremy de Vries-Turnell. Having sung in many groups together and never quite finding the right fit, in mid 2011 they decided to start Naya Chorale.
The response for Naya's inaugural year was overwhelming, with over 60 musicians auditioning and the 2012 line up was truly outstanding. Drawn from all over Perth, these talented singers all have previous choral experience and many are established performers in their own right.
